Research areas

Over the last 25 years, I have carried out research exploring how humans respond to, and interpret, non-sensory physical stimuli (e.g., electromagnetic fields at naturally-occurring, biologically-relevant frequencies). Some of this research involved psychophysiological responses to specific places, and some to exploring the possibility of extrasensory communication, especially in cases which people view as being ‘anomalous’ or ‘psychic’ (ESP,telepathy, empathy, etc.) or ‘mystical’ (visions, transcendental experiences, feelings of unity). I later expanded this to look at related issues of health and wellbeing from an ecological perspective: how humans interact with non-human animals, trees and other plants, and environments; how immersion in natural environments is mentally and physically beneficial, as well as promoting both pro-environmental attitudes and behaviours, and unity experiences.
